Our Consultants
We don't believe in providing consultants fresh out of college. Island Consulting staff
did not become consultants until we had developed relevant skills over many
years in commercial environments.
Steve Amesbury
is co-founder and Director of Island Consulting. He
specializes in IT management, risk management, change management and
project
quality assurance. His assignments included designing a Human Resource
Training
system for a major private healthcare supplier, and consulting
assignments for Government Departments in Victoria, New South Wales, and
Western Australia.
Prior to his consuting career, Steve was Director Information Services at the NSW Office
of State Revenue, where he managed one of this states largest and most
successful IM&T Projects of the time. He was on
several government committees responsible for developing standards on ICT governance.
As
a consultant, Steve has acted as IT Manager for NSW Government Shared
Service providers NSW Businesslink, and Visitor Services Agencies (VSA).
Recent assignments have included
developing business cases for several Departments, and a review of a
major project for the WA Government.
His
background includes roles as project manager, applications manager and IT
Manager in some of Australia’s leading insurance companies.
Lynne
Amesbury also has many years experience in the banking industry in Australia and New
Zealand.
Most
recently, Lynne has provided a range of project management services to the Shoalhaven City
Council.
Prior to that assignment, she provided consultant services in the development and facilitation of project
management training in Sydney, Adelaide and London. She was also instrumental in
setting up the project office for the NRMA.
Lynne gained
considerable experience within Westpac Banking Corporation performing project
reviews, assessing business justifications and delivering project office
services to many business areas within the company.
With
a background in application development and project management, Lynne’s
experiences includes setting up and running an internal software house.
Lynne
obtained her first class honours degree from the University of Technology with a
Bachelor of Applied Science (Computing Science). In addition to many
years commercial experience, Lynne has certification in Project Management and Workplace assessment and
Training.
